Summary

BTSE runs high-volume, mission-critical exchange infrastructure where low latency and high uptime are non-negotiable. Engaged as Technical Program Manager to lead a large-scale migration of that infrastructure from on-premise to AWS — coordinating four parties across Singapore and Taiwan to re-platform a live trading venue without disrupting it.

Approach

  • Four-party coordination — acted as the connective tissue between the in-house engineering team, AWS solution architects, and the other stakeholders in scope, aligning schedules, dependencies, and cutover plans across organisational and geographic boundaries.
  • 35+ microservices, migrated in flight — planned and sequenced the move of more than thirty-five microservices onto AWS, protecting the low-latency, high-availability characteristics a trading venue lives or dies by.
  • Best practices, transferred not imposed — promoted cloud best practices and new technologies with the development team as the migration progressed, so the platform came out the other side more capable to operate, not merely relocated.
  • Executive-legible reporting — reported progress, risk, and trade-offs to executive stakeholders across both regions, keeping a technically complex programme readable at the leadership level.

Outcome

The migration completed with latency and uptime preserved: 35+ microservices running on AWS, four parties kept in lockstep, and an engineering team carrying forward the practices and tooling introduced during the programme. The engagement delivered the AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) end to end — clearing its assessment, mobilisation, and migration milestones to unlock the AWS co-investment and migration credits the program offers.
